Fees & Insurance

At North Salem Psychotherapy, we believe in financial transparency. Understanding your insurance benefits shouldn't be a barrier to getting the care you deserve.

Insurance Options

We are currently In-Network with Aetna.

  • If you have an Aetna plan, you are typically only responsible for your specialist copay or deductible.

  • We handle all the billing directly with Aetna for you.

Out-of-Network Benefits (All Other Providers)

For all other insurance providers (such as BlueCross BlueShield, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, etc.), we operate as an Out-of-Network provider.

Most PPO and POS insurance plans offer "Out-of-Network" benefits, which means they will reimburse you for a significant portion of the cost of therapy—often 50% to 80% of the session fee after your deductible is met.

Hassle-Free Out-of-Network Reimbursement

We know that navigating insurance can be the most stressful part of starting therapy. To make the process as simple as possible, we have partnered with Mentaya, a platform that automatically files your out-of-network claims for you.

Our Concierge Benefit: While most practices pass the Mentaya service fee onto the client, North Salem Psychotherapy covers this 5% cost for you. We believe you should be able to focus on your wellness, not on paperwork.

How it works:

  1. You pay the session fee at the time of service.

  2. Mentaya automatically submits the claim to your insurance provider.

  3. Your insurance company sends the reimbursement check directly to you.

Investment in Care

  • Initial Consultation: Free (15 minutes)

  • Intake Assessment: $150-225

  • Standard Individual Session (45–50 mins): $150-$225

Why Choose Out-of-Network?

Many clients choose to work with our specialized group practice regardless of insurance because:

  1. Privacy: You have more control over your records and diagnosis.

  2. Specialized Care: You aren't limited to a "generalist" on a list; you get access to our specialists in teen and perinatal mental health.

  3. No Waitlists: You can usually begin care immediately without waiting for insurance authorizations.
