Suzanne Esposito, LCSW
I'm Suzanne, a licensed clinical social worker and founder of North Salem Psychotherapy. With more than a decade of experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, I’ve supported teens, young adults, and professionals through some of life’s hardest moments.
Clients describe me as calm, collaborative, and practical. I bring structure when things feel chaotic, and curiosity when patterns feel stuck. Together, we’ll work toward change that’s steady, sustainable, and genuinely yours.
Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and grounded in compassion. My role isn’t to tell you what’s wrong. It’s to help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface and give you the tools to navigate it differently.
If you’re feeling anxious, stuck, or stretched too thin, we’ll start by making sense of what’s getting in the way. Sometimes that means learning concrete skills to calm your body and manage emotions in the moment. Other times, it means looking a little deeper to understand the parts of you that are trying to help, even when their ways of coping don’t work anymore.
My approach draws from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based practices. This blend helps clients build the emotional flexibility to handle stress, strengthen relationships, and reconnect with what truly matters.
I’ve spent more than a decade working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including directing an adolescent program for teens navigating depression, anxiety, and self-harm recovery. That experience taught me how resilient people can be when they finally have the right kind of support.
Clients often tell me that therapy feels different here. It’s steady, honest, and deeply human. Together, we’ll create space for insight, skill-building, and meaningful change that lasts beyond the therapy room.
Outside of work, you can usually find me spending time outdoors with my dog. I love the pace of North Salem and the reminder that home is a place you can always come back to, even if you never thought you would.
